A consortium project in nature (MUIIS) is being implemented by 7 partners who are being led by CTA (Netherlands based organisation) , Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), aWhere, East African Farmers’ Federation (EAFF), EARS Earth Environment Monitoring (EARS), the eLEAF Competence Centre and Mercy Corps Uganda. UCA and UNFFE are members of EAFF.

Project objectives/ goal
The overall aim of the MUIIS project is to improve food security in Uganda by providing satellite data information packages to farmers. The purpose of the initiative is to establish a demand-driven, market-led, and user-owned approach to provision of satellite based information services related to weather forecasting, crop management and index-based insurance to crop farmers in Uganda.

The project is operating in all the 4 regions of the country targeting District farmers Associations (DFAs) and Area Cooperative enterprises ACEs and some SACCOs
